Siena Heights: A Century in the Making

We’re having a party, and you’re invited!

Siena Heights University will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the 2019-20 academic year.

When you have an event this important, you need an entire year to celebrate. And we plan on doing it up right!

Even though we are still more than a year away, things are already in motion. Some of the planned activities include a statewide Olympic-style torch relay event in August 2019 to begin the anniversary year, as well as a “Kickoff Week” and special Homecoming Weekend celebration.

A unique “100 Events for the 100th” concept is also in works, as well as historical displays both on campus and at the Lenawee Historical Museum. And there’s so much, much more to come!

We also recently unveiled the official 100th anniversary logo (right) that will be used exclusively throughout the academic year, as well as an introduction “hype” video. The video and more information along with updates on the 100th anniversary celebration can be viewed at sienaheights.edu/100.

As the chair of the Centennial Committee, I have the honor of directing a motivated and talented group of individuals composed of faculty, staff, alumni, board members—and students—who are assisting with the monumental task of organizing this tremendous milestone in the institution’s history.

And we could use your help.

Do you have old photos, video or “relics” like clothing, publications or memorabilia from Siena Heights’ past that you would be willing to share?

If so, we would love to have them. Items can either be donated, or we
can borrow them and return them to you when the anniversary year is completed. Just contact me at dgoodnou@sienaheights.edu or (517)
264-7141 and we will do the rest.

In true Siena Heights fashion, we want the 100th Anniversary Year to be as collaborative as we can make it. And we want as many Siena Heights alumni and friends to be involved in the festivities! So consider this your “Save the Date” notice.

Help us celebrate our history and be a part of making it!
